Ancient Greek Economy


We have read many books about Ancient Greek Economy. They said in the books that Greeks were skilled craft people. The Greeks were very rich because of their merchandise and they were great craftsmen. First, the Greeks were great sailors and traders. The Greeks had big Trade Ports made in Piraeus. They traded a lot with the Africans they traded their pots with African pots when they sailed to Africa and other pots from the Eastern Mediterranean. Next, a lot of Greeks sailors were known to become mercenaries to be hired to fight for other cities or countries like Egypt for gold. There were also pirates that raided other ships and stole gold. Greek soldiers also forced conquered cities for money. Then, they went to the Asia Minor, and also to southern France and Spain. They traded some rare abjects like gold. They also have to trade things like strange animals.
